I have a Baicells Nova-227 / pBS2120 that is labeled 3550–3700 MHz (FCC ID: 2AG32PBS212096N). I’m using Google SAS through Baicells CloudCore and my own EPC (Open5GS).
SAS registration, spectrum inquiry, grants, and heartbeats are all successful. I consistently receive valid GAA grants in the CBRS band (for example 3680–3700 MHz at 23 dBm).
The problem is what happens next. After each successful grant, the CloudCore Domain Proxy changes the CBSD configuration from Band 48 to Band 42 or 43, rewrites Capabilities.LTE.BandsSupported from 48 to 42/43, applies the configuration, and then reboots the CBSD. This behavior repeats. The CBSDLog clearly shows entries like:
-
“Band: 48 / 43”
-
“Capabilities.LTE.BandsSupported: 48 / 43”
-
Then: “Rebooting CBSD”
As a result, the eNB broadcasts as Band 42/43 with 43xxx EARFCNs instead of Band 48 with 55xxx EARFCNs. My Band 48 UEs never camp the cell.
To confirm hardware and RF capability, if I set region to “Canada or Other Area”, disable SAS, and manually configure Band 48 with EARFCN 56340 (3660 MHz), Band 48 works correctly and my UE attaches immediately. This confirms the radio and firmware can operate properly as Band 48.
So the issue appears to be specific to CloudCore’s CBRS / Domain Proxy handling on this CBSD. It is treating valid CBRS spectrum as Band 42/43 and forcing configuration away from Band 48.
I am looking for assistance to:
-
move this CBSD to the correct North America / CBRS Band 48 profile, or
-
provide the correct CBRS/Band 48 firmware for the pBS2120, or
-
apply whatever licensing / configuration is needed so that the radio remains Band 48 under SAS instead of being rewritten to Band 42/43.
If needed, I can provide full CBSDLog and SASLog CSV files showing:
-
SAS grants and heartbeats succeeding
-
Domain Proxy rewriting Band 48 → 42/43
-
Forced CBSD reboot each time
