L2 layer 2 Networking

When would be the expected time frame on having L2 networking so we can use the billing system we have in place.

+1 for layer 2. All of our monitoring software is based on L2. It’s also very difficult to integrate the Baicells gear into our billing system as is.

I assume you have upgraded to the most recent SPC008 firmware by now. You should be able to do your L2 functions.

Ok Rick I will do that tonight I was waiting to get the ok first

Those of you that are trying to to make this work with your existing billing solution are you currently using powercode or something similiar?

We have our own in-house system. It’s actually more flexible than any of the commercial software suites that I’ve seen but it is a whole other job to keep it up to date and compatible with new equipment. It is nice to say “we need X” and not hear “maybe in the next release…”.

So far it looks like we may need to run our own EPC to get the automated management that we need.

Newest beta is working great!

Are you running your system in bridge mode?
I am trying to figure out how to pass a specific VLAN that is customer facing off the lte cpe.
That way a customer can plug in there router and receive the proper IP address that we assign to customer equipment.

Yes. The bridge mode is working great so far. I’m not sure about VLAN’s. Thats not how we do it.

Hi, while we are waiting for a eNodeB to try the new Firmware, can someone explain how exactly the L2 Feature actually works?

Thanks,
Heiko Rehm

Did you ever find a solution?

Hi all, checking on this topic. We’re looking at options and level of success in running PPPoE over these. Thank you.
